Mar Balearico

Ayer, mientras andaba perdido por internet mirando cosas sobre Japon encuentro un link que informa a los japoneses sobre España. Parecia interesante asi que me meti.

La informacion sinceramente no se si era correcta o no porque mi japones es mas bien nulo, pero habia tres mapas de España en la pagina con notas a pie de pagina en ingles. En un mapa del ministerio de defensa de los Estados Unidos me sorprende una notacion.

Entre la zona de Cataluña-Valencia y las Islas Baleares (donde yo vivo) leo "Balearic Sea".
Mas de veinte años viviendo en las islas y ahora me entero que tenemos un Mar Balearico. Pienso en otra de las estupidas americanadas. Muchas risas.

Tercer mapa. Mapa fisico de España segun no se que organismo en Japon ... "Balearic Sea".

Esto empieza a ser extraño. Veo tambien el letrero diversos cabos, golfos y bahias que si he estudiado en la escuela. Pero esto me sobrepasa. Pues vamos a la wikipedia.

Me encuentro con lo siguiente: existe un articulo en ingles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balearic_Sea) ademas de chino, coreano, leton (Si Ilze, esta en leton), noruego, polaco, rumano e incluso en catalan! ... pero no en español. ¿Han inventado ese mar hace poco?

Como anecdota decir que los simpaticos amigos catalanes decidieron que ademas de existir tambien se le llama Mar Catalan y Mar Catalanobalear ...

¿Como puede ser que no sepa de la existencia de ese Mar si vivo aqui y he estudiado desde pequeño ciencias sociales y del medio ambiente de las Islas Baleares? ¿Se lo han inventado?

Yesterday I was looking some webpages to know more about Japan and I found out a web for japanese to come to Spain. It looks interesting so I entered in.

I don't know about the quality of the information, because of my null level of the language, but I could see three maps of Spain with some notations below them. One of them was a map from the Ministry of Defense of the USA and there ws something ... surprising.

Between the zone of Catalonia-Valencia and the Balearic Islands (where I live in) I could read "Balearic Sea".
I've been living here more than twenty years and this is the first time I see there is a Balearic Sea.Immediately I thought about a stupid failure from the USA. Lots of laughs.

The third map was from an organization from Japan ... "Balearic Sea" was also there.

As the situation became weirder I felt like an idiot about not knowing the name of "our" Sea. I noticed in the map the names of some capes, bays or rivers I have studied so I thought about looking at Wikipedia.

That's what I've discovered: there is an article in english (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balearic_Sea) and chinese, korean, latvian (yes Ilze, there is also in latvian :D), norway, polish, rumanian and even in catalan! ... but not in spanish. Has been that sea recently discovered?

As an anecdote just say that our beloved catalonian friends decided to call this sea also Catalonian Sea and Catalonian-Balearic Sea ...

How can be that I didn't know the existance of that sea if I lived "in" it and I have studied all my life history and environment of Balearic Islands from school to university? Did they invented it?
